Hello all! I just changed to an Ansys  floating license. I was able to install the Ansys server on my descktop and to create the licensing file though their licensing portal, so that the software is working now. Now I wanted to install the software to the Laptop by the same procedure, but it seems that I am not able to have two servers registered, and that the licensing file does only work for one server, which is locally running on my desktop. How do I get the license run on my Laptop, too? Thanks a lot in advance! Karen

Hi,Been using OpticStudio professional Standalone for a while now. Local license (can transfer to different machines but only use on a single machine at any time).Had to reinstall program on a new machine. That seemed to go okay. I transferred away the softkey license to the new machine but it won’t work.Interestingly, If I click on the Launch Sentinel Admin Control Center, I can’t get this link to work on the new machine. It just says ‘Local Host refused to connect’Any ideas if the cause is with the new laptop or Zemax?  

My laptop system just crashed yesterday out of sudden and I was unable to reboot it at all. I did not have a chance to do the Zemax license transfer due to such unexpected event.  Is there a way for me to get the license transfer code at all? Thanks!

In 21.2, there is a New Pivot X/Y/Z inputs are added to the Tilt/Decenter Element tool allowing elements to be decentered around any chosen point. The pivot point can be specified in either Local or Global Coordinates. Today I just upgraded to a new version of 23.1 after long-time process. However, I just found it does not have the tool for the convenient pivot point.What is the problem?

I am interested in purchasing the academic license of Zemax from Ansys. I was told that the academic license comes with the enterprise version. Does this come with the STAR module?

I need to renew our zemax license but it is not appearing on the server, strangely users can detect the licenses from the server.

Yesterday I installed the newest version of Zemax, after the that I couldn’t run Zemax anymore since everytime I started it it froze during the “Copy Data to Zemax Folder”-step Zemax does when you start it the first time after an update.A collogue of mine had initially the same problem, but in his case restarting the PC solved it.In my case the problem persisted after the restart and I got Zemax only working again by reinstalling the previous Version.Does anyone else has this problem with Version 22.1 and is there a solution.

While I was trying to access my zemax account, it showed me an error message and now on logging into my account , it shows that my licence has expired. But my university course will end on july ‘23.  If possible, KIndly look into it and let me know if there is something I can do to curb this problem. Given below is the attachment of the screenshot.

Hi,I can see in the license manager that I have a valid license for OpticStudio Premium, however when I try to open OpticStudio I get the following error pop-up.“No license for OpticStudio was found. If you are attempting to run from a USB key, ensure that the key is plugged in. To activate a new Softkey, open Zemax License Manager.”This license was working for most of the day without problems, half way through ray-tracing the software closed (might have ran out of memory) and when I tried to re-open this occurred.Any advice would be greatly appreciated,Josh

Hi Zemax users, I am considering running Zemax Professional version on a Macbook Pro using a Windows emulator and an old style hard Zemax USB key.  Is there an emulator that is better than others for running Zemax seamlessly?  Ideally would like to be able to save Zemax generated output to the Mac side of my machine.  What has been your experience?

Anyone has the installation file for Zemax 12 (64 bit) Jan 16, 2012? I have it running on one PC but I need to install it on a new PC. I cannot find the installation file and it is not available on Zemax web site.

I have a Global Academic Program License. I need to update my license which I applied and Zemax accepted. I have update code, but I formatted my PC without doing create a copy of the license. Now I cant  “View License” in Zemax License Manager. May i get your advice ? Kind regards.

Hi, i have joined Global Academic Program, and i have installed opticstudio. when i start the program for first time, have see a window that request license number and activation code. i have entered all information that was sent by zemax via email. but i got error that can be seen in the picture i have attached please could you help me to activate my license. 

Recenlty installed the optic studio but cannot activate the license.  It says activation failed everytime I tried it. I have not used the license on any device at all.
