No license found

Hi,I can see in the license manager that I have a valid license for OpticStudio Premium, however when I try to open OpticStudio I get the following error pop-up.“No license for OpticStudio was found. If you are attempting to run from a USB key, ensure that the key is plugged in. To activate a new Softkey, open Zemax License Manager.”This license was working for most of the day without problems, half way through ray-tracing the software closed (might have ran out of memory) and when I tried to re-open this occurred.Any advice would be greatly appreciated,Josh

Anyone has the installation file for Zemax 12 (64 bit) Jan 16, 2012? I have it running on one PC but I need to install it on a new PC. I cannot find the installation file and it is not available on Zemax web site.

how to login zemax after resetting computer

Since I reset my computer 2 weeks ago, I cannot log in with my student license given to me around March. My student license information is available in my email. Since my computer has been reset, I cannot perform transactions such as transfer key with zemax. how can i solve this problem? Thanks!

Can't reach license after format

I have a Global Academic Program License. I need to update my license which I applied and Zemax accepted. I have update code, but I formatted my PC without doing create a copy of the license. Now I cant “View License” in Zemax License Manager. May i get your advice ? Kind regards.

Loss of Academic License after Windows Reinstall

Hello, Zemax Support Team, it seems that question repeats constantly, but I do really need help. Just like in topic, after formatting my PC, I lost my academic license. How can I retrieve it once again? Can someone help me in that case? Thanks in advance.

Loss of license due to formatting laptop

Hi, i have joined Global Academic Program, and i have installed opticstudio. when i start the program for first time, have see a window that request license number and activation code. i have entered all information that was sent by zemax via email. but i got error that can be seen in the picture i have attached please could you help me to activate my license.

Login issue on windows

I have a global student version and have not installed the software on any laptop. I was using M1 mac series for school and got a new windows laptop recently. I tried to log in to my account on windows laptop but I cannot log in at all. I just keeps on loading and nothing happens. Has anyone ever had an issue where you can login to web version on one device and cannot do it on the other one. I wanted to login and download the optic studtio.

Problem regarding Installation

Hello,I just installed OpticsStudios and the problem is always the same. All is working perfectly but i can’t undo things. At each manipulation, a warning message shows :”Unable to find Undo file”. And i tried to resinstall my Matlab multiple times but the problem persists. My “Undo” file is empty in the Data folder or in the Program folder.Do you have a solution ?Cordially,Emmanuel

Missing directories for successful installation, V22.2.1

Just installed OpticsStudio and I confirm that the application launches and works. However, I see several dialogs that suggest one or more directories were not built at the time of install.To be very specific, I am running MacOS 12.3.1 and Parallels virtualized Windows 11 for ARM.When I open OpticsStudio, the first dialog reads:"To complete the OpticsStudio installation, data files must be copied to your user data folder."Once the program launches to the OpticsStudio workspace, I am greeted by individual dialogs. With one message per dialog, they read:"Cannot find glass catalog SCHOTT in project working directory.""Can't open File \\Mac\Home\Documents\Zemax\GLASCAT\SGRIN.DAT!""Can't open File \\Mac\Home\Documents\Zemax\GLASSCAT\GLC.DAT!""Can't open File \\Mac\Home\Documents\Zemax\GLASSCAT\GLC.DAT!""Can't open File \\Mac\Home\Documents\Zemax\GLASSCAT\GADIENT_9.DAT!""Can't open File \\Mac\Home\Documents\Zemax\COATINGS\COATING.DAT!""Can't open File \\Mac\Home\Documents\Zemax\PROFILES\SCAT

I have single license and i want to add another colleague (myself ) to open the software from another PC. I can't do so as there is no "Add colleage" tab. Is there any way to do so? I have installed zemax on my laptop and it crashed so i want to continue working with the software on a new PC

Hello,Is it possible to install a standalone licence with softkey on two differents items ( a PC and a laptop) and be able to use it alternatively. This was easy with a hardkey but I don’t know with a softkey.Thank you,Pascale

Where can I find my activation code?

Hi team, I recently registered for the Global Academic Program license.On my Zemax account page, I can see my license number and verify that I am categorized as an end user.However, I can’t find the activation code to register my license on my PC.It seems like it should be delivered via email, but I haven’t received it. (I checked the spam box)Please let me know how to find the activation code. Thank you.

Renew license

Hi,I renew my student license from Zemax, but I cannot use the license number. What happen is that I don't see my old license to choose on the list, and in the email I have “License Update Code” which I cant use anywhere! I’m guessing I have to retrieve my old license somehow and then update it. I deleted Zemax from my computer, and I think that is why I don't see the my old license anymore!Would anybody please help me to figure this out?ThanksAbbas

Zemax software compatibility with new Apple M1 computers

Hello! Apple recently introduced a Macbook with a new “M1” CPU, rather than the usual Intel CPU. This new CPU requires that any software written for standard Intel or AMD processors has to either be re-written for the new CPU or emulated via virtual machine software such as Virtualbox, VMware Fusion, or Parallels. Zemax products (OpticStudio, OpticsViewer, and OpticsBuilder) are WIndows based rather than native Apple applications, so they will not be rewritten for the M1 CPU. Zemax software has worked fine with virtual machines on Apple computers in the past. However, as reported by some Zemax customers, it appears that Parallels is still in Beta on this platform, and that there is also a “preview edition” of Windows 10. Zemax uses Thales (formerly Sentinel) licensing technology which does not support preview or beta editions of Windows 10. This means even if Opticstudio installs, you cannot access a license (either a black USB key red key , green key, or software-based (softkey) lic
