How can see the position of second order of diffraction by mirror diffraction grating as only first order are visible in layout

Hi @tariq_self,

Apologies on the delayed response to your question. You should be able to see the second diffraction order as long as the rays after diffraction interact with additional optical surfaces and the image surface. Otherwise, OpticStudio will not trace these rays as they shoot off into space and aren’t meaningful for the system.

If you’d like to check out an example file, where you can see the diffraction orders, -2, -1, 0, 1, 2, please see this post: Simulation of a DMD | Zemax Community.

Best,
Ethan
