Color rendering in detector viewer

Luca.cellerino

Hi all,

I'm having an annoying color problem when writing a report.
The detector viewer shows as True Color of a detector color, a color slightly deviated from the expected chromatic coordinates.
For example I see the color red instead of orange.

I attach image.

Has this happened to anyone before?

I know what I'm asking is not very precise, but I assure you that the objective difference is really big.

Thanks

Hi Luca. To go over a system privately, I’d suggest just making a case with Zemax Support. That way our confidentiality policy would apply, as well as any non-disclosure agreements that may be in place. We would share nothing of the system on the forum, though an issue of general interest to the community could then be conveyed here.

If that won’t work out, I’d say just try to isolate the settings/parameters/objects that concern you and create a fresh system that shows the problem but doesn’t represent any real-world system. On the forums, we should certainly stick to systems that everyone is okay with sharing with the whole community.

Hi Luca,

I suspect that there are modest differences in the settings for your display monitor. If you wanted to attach a copy of your system with the detector displays activated, I’d be happy to look closer. The attached picture is far too blurred for me to know what we’re seeing here.

I’ve sometimes found that I expect a different brightness, or that the colors don’t look quite as I expected. There’s a fine difference between red and orange that I would find less worrying than if, for example, a lime green was showing up as sky blue. Please let us know if there’s an example we can look at.

Thanks Kevin, can I make it available to an email outside the community? It is a project that I have simplified but is covered by confidentiality.

Thanks a lot.
