Dear all,

hope all of you are doing well.

I have some questions. Please help.

  1. which type of analysis parameter we have to check at the time of designing eyepiece, night vision and thermal imager?
  1. what should be the minimum value of analysis parameter requirement to design eyepiece, night vision and thermal imager?

Thankyou

Hi Girish

During the design of such systems I check the main system parameters (focal length, FOV), for aberrations mainly look on spot size, chromatic aberrations and distortion. And I got quite good results.

Hi Girish

Other users might have experience to share but I worked a couple of years ago on an API example to tolerance an eyepiece and here are the references I came across:

https://starizona.com/tutorial/understanding-eyepieces/

https://www.edmundoptics.com/resources/application-notes/microscopy/choosing-the-correct-eyepiece/

And “Lens Design” by Milton Laikin contains a section about eyepiece:
