Sag Table

I have query regarding Optic Studio feature  :  analyse> surface > sag table  . Also attached a image for your kind consideration. If required I can share file as well.

 

Q1 : How is the slope being calculated here ?

Q2 : What is maximum slope deviation meaning ?  and how it is being calculated ?

Q1: as from the commonly agreed definition of “slope”, this is the first derivative of Sag with respect to Y-coord. Clearly, OpticStudio calculates this derivative numerically, but I don’t know the specific computational approach or the differentiation step used. Likely, the latter should be independent of the “Step Size” you select in the Settings.

Q2: this is the max value from the Slope Delta data column. Slope Delta itself is obtained as abs(Slope-BFS Slope)
