Hi,
I often get missing beams when trying to export CAD Step files with rays represented as solid beams. See below an illustration:
Obviously some parts of the beams are missing.
Any suggestions?

Problem to export solid beams correctly

There are a few reasons solid beams may not export correctly. They are listed in the Help System file CAD Files (ansys.com)
So I’d double check that the marginal rays of the fields in your model that are missing are not being vignetted. Also, I’d switch between Parasolid and SMS libraries to see if the behaviour is the same (This can be done in Setup > OpticStudio Preferences > General).
Finally, if the Solid Beam option is not working for you, we usually recommend exporting with the Ring setting. Then, in SolidWorks, you can make a lofted solid based on the rays that are exported.
