STAR module coupled with ANSYS dynamic simulation (Ls-dyna)

Would like to make the ANSYS dynamic simulation results (eg. Ls-dyna, dynamic) import to Zemax to check the optical performance. The dynamic scenario is dropping or applying an additional force. 

Is it available to make these simulation results coupled with STAR module to get more info from ZEMAX and import the mechanical simulations into ZEMAX?

Hello Doris,

As long as you can export the structural deformation of a given surface in a tab-delimited, text file with the [X,Y,Z,dX,dY,dZ] the STAR module will be able to update the OpticStudio design file. You may then use any usual OpticStudio tool to check the optical performance.

When dealing with a dynamic scenario, the STAR-API can prove quite useful to automate the deformation file import, system and results update. To illustrate this aspect of the process, taking into account multiple timesteps, we also provide example code in this article:
