how to convert toroidal surface to extended polynomial surface without degrating optical performance by using zpl or zos-apl? thanks.

Hello Zhengfeng, 

We don't have a direct way of converting those types of surfaces in OpticStudio. You will likely have to equate the sag equations of the Toroidal surface with that of the Extended Polynomial. These can be found in the Help System for each surface. As for using the API, we have an example article that uses the API to convert a Chebyshev to an Extended Polynomial that will probably be very helpful: https://my.zemax.com/en-US/Knowledge-Base/kb-article/?ka=KA-01824.
