I would like to perform image simulation by first generating a USAF 1951 3-bar target on a curved object surface concave toward the entrance pupil, rather than on a flat surface object.  Has anyone tried that before?  How to do it?

Thanks, Mike

I just put a radius of curvature on the object surface.  Now the field points have a z-component given by the sag of the object surface.

Jeff

This post may be of some help:

When using a paraxial lens for imaging, the curved object surface produces field-dependent defocus as well as distortion.

Not sure if you want to apply correcting pre-distortion…

Jeff

Thanks Jeff, but how did you apply the USAF target pattern on a curved object?  That’s what I’m asking.
