Haze and Hal power angle

Good morning to all,

in order to integrate data from plastics manufacturers, I came across the "Haze" and "Half Power Angle" values of the attached datasheet (see in second page at section “optical properties”). How can I integrate these values into the characterization of my personal material catalog?

Thanks a lot.

Hi Luca

I think “Haze” and “half power angle” will be modelled as scattering, so basically applying a scattering model to your surface / object: https://support.zemax.com/hc/en-us/articles/1500005575662-What-scattering-models-are-available-in-OpticStudio-

I looked quickly at the wikipedia page since I am not familiar with these quantities https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haze_(optics) but from my understanding the % of Haze is the Fraction to Scatter and the angle gives the distribution.

Hi to all,

I'm trying to make OS calculate (through a merit function) the possible mean paths and angles. I don't know how to tell the system to take the detected peak value and divide and halve it.

Thanks a lot
