Hello,

I have a rectanular field type and need to determine focus position of each field on the microdisplay. For example, if I take microdisplay wth 15,5mm*8,7mm so the field [19;7] need to be focused in position of the microdisplay wih coordinates [7,75mm; 4,35mm].

What operand should I use to determine position of the field focus on the microdisplay (for each field)?

Thank you in advance!

I know of two ways to do this. One way is to translate each of the field positions to normalized field coordinates and then use REAY and REAX operands to determine the Y and X intercepts on the image surface. Using Px=Py=0 gives a chief ray for each field. The other way is to display a spot diagram and read the coordinates off the diagram. The spot diagam for each field lists both the object and image intercept coordinates. In this case, the intercept values listed are for the spot reference -- which can be the chief ray, the centroid, or the middle of the spot.

Best,

David
