I’d like to determine the Gaussian source that have divergences 4 degrees(X-axis) and 8 degrees(Y-axis)

Below picture is when I set the source by Gaussian source and aperture

But, I’d like to determine the gaussian source that have beam shape with below image.

The Source Ellipse can be used to define a source which is Gaussian in the x and y direction cosines with divergence angles different in x and y. For small angles, the difference between the angle and the cosine is negligible.

Dear David,

Thank you for your reply.

I've never used it, so I don't understand exactly how to use it.

If it’s okay with you, could you please show me an example?

Hello YoungDae,

The Gx and Gy control the shape factor of the Gaussian distribution in the x and y directions. The divergence angle is generally specified as the angle from axial at which the intensity falls to 1/e^2 of the peak value. A bit of derivation can allow us to calculate the values of Gx and Gy from that (or any other) specification:

I used these values in the attached OpticStudio file.
