Converting Tolerancing Values

I’m working on finalizing a lens design for a prototype. I’ve run a tolerance analysis on my lens and I’m working with vendors on manufacturing. Different vendors have communicated different metrics/units for various tolerance values than what I’ve used in my tolerance analysis, and I would like to know how to convert between these units/metrics.  In particular:

Radius: I’ve modelled this in terms of fringes at a test wavelength and would like to convert to percentage or millimeters of error.

Surface Decentration:  I’ve modelled this in millimeters of decentration.  Vendors usually quote it in terms of arcminutes of beam deviation.  I would like to convert between the two.

How can I convert these values?  If there are other tolerance values with useful conversions, it would be useful to learn about those too.

Thanks!

Hi Ryan

For the radius, you can check in the help file under TFRN for the conversion.

For the surface decentration, have a look in the help files under TIRX:
