Saving macros

Hello OpticStudio users,

Today, I noticed that if I am writting a macro, I need to click on the floppy icon to save it. If I press Ctrl+S, it saves my lens design, but not the macro. This happens even if the focus is on the text editor window of the macro.

In other words, if I modify a macro, then press Ctrl+S, and run the macro again, changes are ignored.

Am I doing something wrong?

I don't remember if it was always the case, but I hope this post will avoid people losing time with this mistake in the future.

Take care :)

Hello Sandrine :)

It must be because I haven't written a macro in a long time, and I lost some time figuring out what was happening.

I guess there's no need to have a feature request for the moment, unless the discussion in this post expand to other users.

Have a good day, and take care

Hi David!

It is nice to hear from you. I hope you are well.

I don't think you did anything wrong. I think it has always worked like this.

The File...Save button has a shortcut key whereas the Macro editor doesn't. That can be checked under the Save button:

When you close the Macro editor, you will get a message saying that you haven't saved your changes, so hopefully this is a good reminder.

I can add a feature request to get a shortcut key for the Macro editor as well.

Let me know if that could be useful.

Sandrine
