Angular distribution

Daniel Bianchi

Good morning,
I imported an LED source with the .DAT file, is it possible to analyse the angular distibution?

Below is the angular distribution taken from the datasheet

Hi Daniel,

You can do this using a Detector Polar with the Detector Viewer set to Show As: Directivity Half. Unless you can trace a lot of rays, like 1E6, you will need to adjust the viewer smoothing to reduce noise. The Detector Polar is set to Radial Size larger that the dimensions of the extended source so it captures all the rays. In the case below, I limited the detector to a 90 degree half-angle.
