How can I calculate the resolution for a mirrors system ?

Goodmorning everyone.

I’m a new user of  Zemax.

I have a simple mirror system composed by two elements: the first is flat while the second spherical or parabolic. The object is set at 3400mm from the pinhole and it is 1180 mm x 1180 mm. The system works in visible range.

Can you suggest a way to define the resolution of the system or suggest papers or discussion about this topic ?

Hi Brando, the resolution of an optical system is often measured using MTF. If you need references to learn more about MTF, Edmund Optics has some good resources. Additionally, Zemax partnered with Edmund to build a training course (free) called The Fundamentals of Optics which you can join by registering here: https://academic.zemax.com/course-application/
