1 Bug Fixes

Ansys Zemax OpticsBuilder 2023 R2.01 includes the following bug fixes:

  • Crashing -
    • Creo was crashing when loading the sample file “Cellphone Camera Lens Start Design.zbd”
    • Crea was crashing when an optical assembly is active in Creo and a user activates the add-in.
  • Import ZBD File -
    • During equation-driven import of the Binary2A object, if the radius equaled the aperture a “regeneration error” would appear.
    • In Creo 4, a sample system was not visible in the graphics area after importing the same system multiple times in a row.
    • In Creo 4 and Creo 5, a “.NET framework” error message would appear if a user tried to cancel their import.
  • Update ZBD File -
    • Reference geometry remained after Update ZBD File when the same initial system has been chosen.
  • Export ZBD File -
    • Additional parts appeared in the model tree and OpticsBuilder’s Optics Manager after Exporting to ZBD with optomechanical component(s) included
    • After Exporting the ZBD file, the “RaysIgnore" flag was not preserved for a mechanical component(s)
    • The position of mechanical components in the assembly were changing after Export ZBD file if the optical system units were different
  • Fold Mirror Tool –
    • A fold mirror that was added and saved in an assembly from older versions of OpticsBuilder was not present in Optics Manager upon import of the saved assembly.
    • After selecting “undo” the Fold Mirror, some components moved to their intial position correctly, but the Fold Mirror would still sometimes show instead of deleting.
  • Scatter Models -
    • The scatter models for all faces of an object were not correct after the lens was opened in part mode.
    • The user-defined scatter model assigned to an object was not added into the available selection list.
    • After the scatter list changed, the lens would rebuild and break the mechanical constraints.
  • Optics Manager -
    • In the Optical Properties menu, available optical component types were not listed in alphabetical order in the “Object Type” list.
    • There was a 10 second delay during the preview for some lenses when changing parameters for the part.
    • The properties menu for optomechanical components would display incorrectly when opening it from the Optics Manager.
    • The Optics Manager was available before the OpticsBuilder add-in was fully loaded into Creo.
    • The sequence of detectors shown in the Detector Viewer was not matching the sequence of detectors in the Optics Manager.
    • In some cases, the name of a source would not change in the Optics Manager after the component type was changed in the part parameters.
    • UI: Some optical components and detectors did not appear aligned.
  • Miscellaneous -
    • If the OpticsBuilder application was uninstalled, an error message “Some elements cannot be removed” appeared and a file would remain active in the OpticsBuilder folder.
    • UI: “Generate reference geometry” window would sometimes show “delete” when no optical component had been selected.
    • UI: Sometimes the Chief Ray object would not appear in the Creo Model Tree after selecting the Chief Ray in the graphics area.
    • In the “Apply Surface Properties” tool, the first selected component was not added to the selection list during multi-component selection from the Creo model tree.
    • The “Add Mounting Edge” tool would show more than the selected object in the editing window, in some cases.
    • The DLL folder would appear empty after installing OpticsBuilder.
