Volume calculation of traced rays

Hi everyone,

In zemax is it possible to calculate the volume of the rays. 

For instance, below is an image for just a reference.

Hi @o.sonmez,

I’m not aware of any tool or automated method to calculate the volume of ray bundles in OpticStudio. I think your best bet would be to manually calculate the volume with the equation for a cone, given the length and radius of the bundle.

V = (1/3) · π · r^2 · h

Is there a reason that you want to calculate the volume of the rays, beyond just measuring the cross-section with a detector?
