Greetings to everyone.

I’ve stumble upon this wide-view collimator design and it could be useful for me if RMS spot size radius is less then Airy radius.

The goals:
- RMS spot less then Airy radius,
- EFFL to be very close to 2000mmm and
- that a group of lenses be around 400 mm.

The article and Zemax file are attached.

Thanks for help.

Hi Ned,

Do you have any other constraints?

Like materials, asphere surfaces, thickness of the lens, number of lenses, total weight etc.?

Attached hereby my results. Maybe with more Hammer current optimization, you can achieve your target.

Nadav

Dear Nadav,

thank you for your time and answer. There are other constraints:

  1. materials (F5, LAK11, F2 & ZF2 from CDGM catalogue),
  2. no aspheric surfaces,
  3. thickness of the lens max 40 mm,
  4. number of lenses is five (5).

Regards, Ned
