I’m trying to optimize an imaging system for an effective focal length and f/#. To accomplish this, I’m using the Merit function wizard to specify the desired effective focal length (EFFL), but I’m having trouble finding the acronym to specify the system’s F-number.  It then occurred to me that I could simply look it up, if I could find a list of all abbreviations available in the merit function, but I’m having trouble finding this as well. Pointedly, my questions are:

  1. What acronym describes the f-number of the optical system within the merit function editor?
  2. Where can I find the list of all acronyms used in the merit function editor?

Hello,

WFNO is the merit function operand for the system working f number.

If you select the help system from the merit function editor it will take you to documentation on the available merit function operands organized in various categories.
