I was reading the help file section about Available Scatter Models in OpticStudio. Under BSDF Scattering:

A full description of the model and its use is provided in the Knowledge Base article entitled “How to Use Tabular Data to Define the Surface Scattering Distribution” also available on the OpticStudio web site.

When I copied the phrase in the quotes into the search function on my.zemax, there were no results found. I then searched for just BSDF in the knowledgebase and found the article titled 'How to use tabular BSDF data to define the surface scattering distribution'. It was very surprising that by not including the BSDF term into the search query I was provided no results.

Greetings!

Yes the search is a little strange with the terms Sometimes less words is better than more so it doesn;t have to match as many words. We are moving the knowledge base to a new platform soon. Hopefully the search will be more flexible as well.

I use Google. For example, searching 'Zemax define scattering distribution' returns the KBA as the first result. Google has put a lot of effort into flexible search capabilities.
