I want to generate spherical aberrations in lens system, without inducing other aberrations (as small as possible is ok).



Is there an operand in merit funcion that I can use? Thanks a lot. 

Place a surface at a pupil plane and make it an Irregular surface. You can then set spherical directly. See the docs for the Irregular surface, I htink it takes lens units as argument so you'll need to work out the lens units needed for your 10 waves.
