Is there a feature for when the open file was last saved? If not can one be added please.
I'm always getting distracted and it's a real pain to work out if the open file is my 'best ever creation' or just a pile of junk; usually the latter :-(

I'll pass your comments to our development team. Currently, there is not a direct way to manage/keep track the different versions of your optical systems during design process, but this is a question that came from time to time, and some members of the community have shared their methods here and here.
Not sure if it will help, but the autosave tool automatically saves the current file at the specified intervals defined in the Project Preferences. You can change the amount of time between automatic saves in the Project Preferences > General.
