Update – Issue Resolved in 2025 R1.01
We’re pleased to share that the issue preventing online Help files from being accessed within OpticStudio has been resolved in Ansys Zemax OpticStudio 2025 R1.01.
If you were affected by this issue, we recommend updating to 2025 R1.01 to restore full access to online Help.
Thank you for your patience, and we appreciate your feedback! If you have any further questions or experience any issues, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
The download page only contains 25R1.00 is there a link I am missing?
Thanks,
Wim

Yes, as previously announced, starting with the 2025 R1.01 release Ansys Zemax OpticStudio is no longer available as a standalone installer on download.ansys.com. Instead, it is now part of the Ansys Automated Installer, which simplifies installation and updates across Ansys products.
Good to know, thank you!
The previous help UI was convenient, but the current method requires an internet connection or involves the hassle of navigating a giant PDF manual.
Is there a way to restore the original help popup for easier access?
@Navaneeth_Tejasvi_1996
Thank you for your feedback. We’re actively looking into integrating Ansys Local Help so that you can access contextual Help without needing an Internet connection.
We appreciate your patience as we work on this.
Cheers, Tom

We are wondering if the Help*.CHM file for 2025 might be available more directly, since it is only ~ 87 MB.
Locally we have found that dropping it into the HELP folder, makes that functionality still available through the F-1 hotkey. We would happily download the separate file if that is available.
I see above that you are also working on tying to integrate local help without an i-net connection, which is key for anyone working in a security conscious setting.
Thanks.
I tried your instruction on installing new version from Ansys automated installer. I selected only Zemax there. But after all the installation process my ZOS version still remains 2025 R1.00 and I still have broken online help link from the help button.
Update to my previous post above 5 days ago.
I realized that new R1.01 was installed in different folder but my Windows didn’t create new program icon for that in the Start button. I found new ZOS R1.01 was installed in new folder ANSYS Inc\v251 under Program Files, so I made new short icon for the program execution file and it opens up R.01 fine and now help button opens up online help with correct link.
Hi @Tom Pickering : How do I uninstall 2025 Ansys products? I do not see it in Control Panel - “Add/Remove Programs” list.
Hi @Asuku
There is an Uninstall.exe file in the Program Files...Ansys...v251 folder. That is the cleanest way to uninstall:
