Released: October 13th, 2020
OpticStudio 20.3.1 contains the following fixes and enhancements.
Performance & Stability
- CAD – Improved stability when copying CAD Solidworks parts to other instances of OpticStudio
- Tolerance Data Viewer – Tolerance Data Viewer Sensitivity tab properly shows results when TDV separate fields/configs
- Single Ray Trace – modified the angle of incidence reporting calculation in the Single Ray Trace to account for situations where the k-vector and normal vector point in the same direction when not in mirror space
- ZOS-API - updated the ZOS-API Syntax Help to include all settings in the IAS_PhysicalOpticsPropagation interface
- User Defined Aperture - improved stability when loading an invalid User Defined Aperture
- CAD - SAT files generated with the latest version of SolidWorks can now be opened in OpticStudio
- CAD - improved the ray tracing algorithm for CAD geometries to improve reliability at higher Chord Tolerance settings and to decrease geometry errors
- CAD - fixed several geometry issues with User Defined Apertures
- CAD - fixed exporting STEP files with decentered apertures
- CAD - added a new ZAN face-mapping file for the new CAD libraries so the older ZEN facemapping file will be preserved when switching between CAD libraries
- CAD - improved CAD export of sequential toroidal surfaces
- CAD - fix handling of versioned Creo files causing invalid CAD file extensions to show up in the list
- CAD - fix for incorrect faces in Boolean object when parent is created from triangles
- CAD - fix for Source Imported object generating an error message when the parent is a CAD Part: STEP object
- CAD - implement elliptical “cylinder volume
- Geometric Image Analysis - improved stability for terminating the Geometric Encircled Energy analysis midway through a calculation
Materials & Catalogs
- Rochester Precision Optics – Additions and corrections to glass status, dispersion formula coefficients, constants for dn/dt, TCE, and density have been made. In addition, 13 glasses have been removed.
