Hi everyone, I just have a quick question regarding mapping an intensity map of the output pattern of a source. Are there any applications in the analysis tab of Zemax that can output something along the lines of what is attached below. Thanks for the help!

Hi amoglian,

in NSC mode, the detector viewer can be used to display the intensity distribution of a source. To do this, you have to place the detector object close to the source object. The detector viewer is also capable to show a cut through the intensity distribution (similar to the lower one of your plots), this is controlled by the “Show As” setting which can be set to “Cross Section Row” or “Cross Section Column”.

For further analysis, such as the comparison to theoretical profiles, I recommend to extract the intensity data from the detector viewer and use other tools (Zemax Macros, Excel, Matlab, Python, any other programming language) for further processing. You can extract the data from the “Text” tab of the detector viewer or use the ZOS-API.

Best regards
Benjamin
