Zemax shutting down in version 20.3.2

Hello,

I have a problem with some projects.

After downloading new version, Zemax shuts down after few/several operations (sometimes it doesn’t even open file). Recovered file acts same way.

I tried to get back to older version, but it can’t open files, which are made in new version.

I am attaching simple file that makes problems.

Hi Allie.

There was something wrong with CAD files there.

I have unchecked ‘use acis libraries’ in setup >project preferences > general and deleted documents\zemax\license\version.log. It works properly now, but i had to fix those CAD surfaces.

Hi @Tomasz.Pozniak - Sorry to hear that you’re having these issues.

I tried opening the file you sent, and I am seeing this error:

The file then immediately closes, which is definitely not the behavior we want.

Do you see this error as well? If so - are you able to locate the wtorne.uda file within your directories?  It seems like the problem may be that there is a conflict caused by an inability to find this file, and an analysis or tool which requires it. Once we confirm the UDA can be found, we can continue to investigate if the file is still crashing after that.

Hi Tomasz - thanks for letting me know. I’m glad it’s working for you now, though I’m sorry to hear the ACIS libraries were giving you trouble. I’ll mark this thread for review by our product team as they continue work on maintaining the graphics libraries.
