Thermal Analysis of Black Box

Hi everyone,

is it possible to do a thermal analysis of a black box file? The manual states that some features are not available with BB-files, but I couldn’t find anything if ‘Make Thermal’ would work.

Thanks!

I don’t think it is, sorry. Thermal analysis requires access to all the materials, radii, thicknesses etc...all the things that the Black Box hides.

There is a workaround. If the people who supply the black box file were willing to create versions of the file at each temperature and pressure pair you need, they could save individual black box files for each T, P pair and then you could zoom the name of the black box file in the multi-config editor. Load each file into a config that has the same T, P and you should be set. You’d have a different black box for each T,P and you could see the difference, add extra surfaces to athermalize etc.

Hope that helps,
