Released: December 1st, 2020

OpticStudio 20.3.2 contains the following fixes and enhancements.

Performance & Stability

  • CAD - improved the NURBS normal fitting algorithm for the ACIS libraries to provide better convergence between native and CAD parts (note that although the fitting algorithm is improved, there will typically be residual errors between native and CAD parts)
  • CAD - improved ray intercept solver for greater precision for the ACIS libraries

Bugs

  • Swept Object - fixed geometry errors when using planar faces from a parent object with the Swept Object
  • Spot Diagram - updated the Standard Spot Diagram output to reflect the proper Afocal Mode Units when the Afocal Image Space box is checked
  • Single Ray Trace - updated the Single Ray Trace analysis to properly show the correct signs for the direction cosine when in MIRROR space (note that magnitude of the individual components are unaffected and were correct)
  • ZOS-API - updated the ZOS-API for the IAS_PhysicalOpticsPropagation interface to properly access all settings
  • CAD - updated the ACIS ray tracer for intercepts less than the chord tolerance
  • Extruded Objects - fixed a rendering issue with the Shaded Model for Extruded Objects using the ACIS libraries
  • Merit Function Wizard - the sequential Merit Function Wizard using Improve Manufacturing Yield, Rectangular Array and Delete Vignetted now correctly removes the HYLD operands whose rays are vignetted
  • Fresnel Objects - fixed error in setting the face number for Fresnel objects using ACIS libraries
  • Transmission - fixed error handling and reporting in the Transmission analysis when the chief ray cannot propagate through the system

Materials & Catalogs

  • Rochester Precision Optics – S-NPH1_Mold, SF57_Mold, & H-ZLAF50B_Mold were inadvertently removed in the previous update and have now been restored
