This discussion presents methods for evaluating equivalent system performance in sequential and non-sequential modes. The key areas covered include Surface/Object Face Sag Maps, GEO MTF, and spot sizes, with corresponding pathway settings detailed below:

  1. Compare Surface/Object face Sag Map
    Configuration steps:
    SEQ:  The Analyze Tab (sequential ui mode) » Polarization and Surface Physics Group (the analyze tab, sequential ui mode) » Surface » Surface
    NSC: The Analyze Tab (non-sequential ui mode) » Polarization and Surface Physics Group (the analyze tab, non-sequential ui mode) » NSC Surface Sag

  2. Compare GEO MTF (Geometrical Modulation Transfer Function) for non-diffraction-limited aberrated systems
    Configuration steps:
    SEQ: The Analyze Tab (sequential ui mode) » Image Quality Group » MTF » Geometric MTF
    NSC: The Analyze Tab (non-sequential ui mode) » Image Quality Group (non-sequential) » NSC Geometric MTF.

  3. Compare spot sizes
    Configuration steps:
    SEQ: To match the NSC mode, the spot must be referenced to "Centroid," not a chief ray. The Ray Density in the spot diagram can be up to 200.
    NSC: NSDD operand(All pixel distance and angle data referenced with respect to the centroid for the weighted RMS radius);
    or ‘The Analyze Tab (non-sequential ui mode) » Detectors Group » Detector Viewer> Beam Info,’ when the viewer is looking at data from a Detector Rectangle or Detector Color object.
    P.S.: Make sure ‘Real’ ray aiming is turned on; there is no ray trace order sequence in the NSC system.

  4. Compare Irradiance plot
    Configuration steps:
    SEQ: The Analyze Tab (sequential ui mode) » Image Quality Group » Extended Scene Analysis » Geometric Image Analysis
    NSC: The Analyze Tab (non-sequential ui mode) » Detectors Group » Detector Viewer » Incoherent Irradiance

P.S.:
