1.1 Catalog Updates (All Editions)
Get the latest catalogs from Focuslight, Ohara and Optimax.
Stock Lenses:
- The Focuslight MicroOptics catalog has been added:
- 7 models of microlenses for collimation and refocusing applications have been added.
- The catalog comprises of 5 Silicon and 2 Fused Silica microlenses with low pointing error and minimal optical phase front distortions enabled by wafer-level manufacturing. Custom monolithic micro-optics are produced on a wafer level using reactive ion etching (RIE) to transfer the necessary structures onto the Silicon and Fused Silica substrate.
- The offered linear microlens arrays (MLAs) are well-suited as both single and multimode connectors for optical networks, supporting applications like TOSA/ROSA, WSS, MUX, DEMUX, and ROADM.
- Every coupler/collimator lens model comprises the following surfaces:
- The front lens surface: It represents the lens curvature on the front side and the total wafer thickness starting from the lens apex.
- The back lens surface: It corresponds to the back side of the patterned wafer. The mechanical semi-diameter, both for front and back surface, and can be considered as half of the specified microlens array pitch. The clear aperture, if not specified, is 90% of the mechanical diameter.
- The image plane: Is where the focusing position lies along the z axis. In other words, it corresponds to the working distance of the lens. If not specified, this can be computed as the focal position of the marginal ray.
Materials:
- The Ohara material catalog has been updated: added new material: S-NBM52 and updated parameters of 429 glasses.
- The Focuslight material catalog has been added: a new Silicon material has been introduced (FL_SILICON) to meet the operational wavelength of 1.330 μm of such components.
Coatings:
- Focuslight
- The embedded COATING.DAT file includes now two new AR coatings at 0° ANGLE, one for Silicon (FOCUSLIGHT_SI: 1.1 μm ≤λ≤ 1.95 μm) and one for Fused Silica (FOCUSLIGHT_FS: 1 μm ≤λ≤ 2 μm).
Test Plate Lists:
- The Optimax Test Plate List has been updated.
2 Bug Fixes
- API license sharing - Fixed an issue where multiple instances of OpticStudio incorrectly consumed multiple license seats.
- Inactive buttons in Material catalog - Fixed an issue in the Material catalog where the two buttons “Save Catalog As” and “Copy Glass” were disabled.
