Why the hammer doesn't change the lens


I am trying to use hammer optimzation with material substitution, I am using multiconfiguration, why my lens doesn't change with the hammer

optimization? Is there something prevent from changing? Thanks a lot.

Hi Weihua,

It can be that there are no glasses that match the criteria defined in your glass substitution template so it is not possible for substitution to proceed. Or that a change in the materials don't give a lower merit function. If your glass is controled in the Multi-Configuration Editor, OS won't allow you to use the Substitute Solve in the Lens Data Editor.

Sometimes I have the same issue, I am not clear about the solution yet. However, I suppose the merit function editor setup might make the difference. Last but not least,  the layout should back itself out of a poor starting point, if any.
