Hi Guys, using Opticstudio Professional version. Is there a way to optimize a CAD file (.iges or .step) in the professional version or the CAD file can only be used for visualization and ray tracing?

In Professional version, a CAD file (.iges or .step) is only for ray tracing, not optimizing.
The Dynamic Link (for Autodesk & Creo Parametric) is a Premium feature only. Note that the Dynamic Link appears to work with AutoDesk Inventor 2018 and PTC Creo Parametric 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10.
In the Professional version, you have 2 limited options for optimization of CAD-like objects:
- Use the Part Designer to recreate your CAD
- Use the Boolean Native or Boolean CAD

Hi Michael,
Is there a way to update Zemax professional 15.5 to Zemax 15.5 premium by paying the difference? My key is a legacy key. I can’t afford the new one as I am struggling at the moment.
In other words, is there a way to pay to upgrade and keeping the same version? I realize it's out of maintenance.
