Hi, I have a simple question for you. I would like to implement a concave mirror (or lens) with rectangular aperture in NSC mode (like the one I attached in this post). The rectangle must have a shape 25 cm x 25 cm, while the spherical part must have a radius of 40 cm.

Which object type should I use? (I already tried Standard Surface, but I cannot get the rectangular shape).

Thank you in advance.

Hi Nicola,

Thanks for posting here in the forum!

In order to model a rectangular mirror in non-sequential, I would use the Off-Axis Mirror Object. With the Shape Parameter you can set it to rectangular (Shape 2) and with the X and Y Half Width you can set the dimensions.

If I take your sequential system on the image as a blue print, the non-sequential equivalent looks a bit like that:

Let me know if you have any other questions

Have a good day!
