Hi! I have imported a 3D model of a lens from SOLIDWORKS to Zemax and would like to ray trace it. I am a beginner at Zemax, so I am not sure where to start and how to define the surface, etc..

Thank you!

Hi

what a coincidence! I am also working on the CAD data in Zemax non-sequential , and after several trials, below is what I learned...just for your reference, and let’s wait better answer and try together

1) ensure position of CAD Data in Zemax to match with your optics design
2) set materials of CAD data as in your optics design
3) set coating of CAD data as your optics design

….

by the way you can use this to check the surface
