In the Merit Function Editor there is the option to generate a Merit Function Listing. At the top of the Merit Function Listing three summarizing lines are listed: “Merit Function Value”, “Constraints Merit Function”, and “Sequential Merit Function”. The “Sequential Merit Function” value results from the used “Default Merit Function” and the “Contraints Merit Function” value from all the operands added to the Merit Function (e.g. contraints controlling geometry, MTF, distortion...).

My question: How do the two component values combine to yield the “Merit Function Value”?
