WHen in MCE,   is there the equivalent for a “Comment Line” ?

One can use  BLNK in Merit Function files,  and

one can use the “!”  in the Tolerance Scripts.

Is it possible to annotate parts of the MCE files ??

There should be a MOFF operand for that, if my memory serves me well. I will double-check tomorrow :)

HI ALL:

Both @David.Nguyen and another fellow ray bender pointed out that the default first line of all MCE edits is preloaded with MOFF, which can accept 32 chars of text.    Little did i suspect that in Klingon MOFF  translates to “Comment”.

I can only assume that  “COMM”  and  “REMM”  seemed too BASIC to use.

Thanks to all.

Hi James,

Some of these mnemonic can be cryptic at times. You can find the comprehensive list of Multi-Configuration operands in the Help File (The Setup Tab > Editors Group (Setup Tab) > Multiple Configuration Editor > Multi-Configuration Operands), and perform a search for whatever function you desire to see if its there. Interestingly enough there’s a Multi-Configuration operand called MCOM, which gives you the specified surface comment from the LDE. Also COMM does actually exist in OpticStudio, but it is a tolerance operand.

Take care,

David
