Page 505 of OpticStudio_UserManual_en first paragraph reads 'The IS Scatter Catalog scatter model allows the use of data measured with the Optic Studio IS-SATM device for defining the scattering properties of a surface ...'

I would like to get some measurements made with this device of parts that I have on hand and have them available within the IS Scatter Catalog for subsequent NS simulation work.

I am using Zemax OpticStudio 21.1.2 Premium version.  How do I proceed?

Hi Tim,

Thanks for your question here on the forums!

IS-SA is an Imaging Sphere for Scatter and Appearance Measurement. For more details about this device, please check out this description:
Radiant-Imaging-Sphere-for-Scatter-and-Appearance-Measurement-IS-SA.pdf (sphereoptics.de)

The IS-SA can be used to measure the scattering properties of a surface. After measuring a sample, the exported scattering data is a .isx file, and in the Premium edition of OpticStudio, we provide some measured scattering data libraries as below:

Then, these scatter models can be added to object surfaces:

So this is a possibility to download and use measurement data done by the IS-SA device. I am not sure this is what you are looking for.

Do you already have the measured scattering data ready to use? Or rather you would like to perform those measurements?

Looking forward to hearing back from you.

Best,
Csilla
