How to solve the problem of graphic issue with Optic Studio 21.3?
Does anybody know how to solve the graphic related issue with OpticStudio 21.3?
I have installed this version and was using weeks but, recently it shows very unusual action.
When the cursor moves, the menu bar, tool bar, and the Lens Data table erases. Also, the small windows zoom up and it maintains or returns when the cursor moves out.
I have captured the and attached.
Please let me know the way to fix this problem.
I have tried to re-install the problem but the problem wouldn’t disappear.
Sincerely,
Kiho Kim

Hello!
Strange issue. Have you restarted the machine as well?
I suspect something with the video card drivers or a Windows issue. Can you attach or paste in the log file from the “system diagnostics” on the “help” tab in Opticstudio?
Dear Don Dickinson:
Thank you for your advice!
Yes, I had tried restarting the system several times.
I also have tried to install the older version OS but the problem still exists.
With the guide from Alexandra, I have installed the newer version of video driver but it is the same.
OS used to work well but, the problem occurred a week or so ago. I don’t remember any specific PG installation in between.
Please refer the System Diagnosis info below.

I had tried the OS in ‘Safe Mode of Windows 10’, but it would not work. It seemed that some process didn’t load and the green USB dongle would not be recognized.
But, while starting for Safe Mode, I saw one setting and tried different start up of windows.
As seen on the image above, my system configuration startup selection was ‘Selective startup’ and it automatically returns to that selection.
When I choose ‘Normal startup’ and restart the system, Zemax OS works without problem.
If I just restart the computer again OS still shows problem. And when I check the startup selection, it has been changed to ‘selective startup’.
Again, if I change the selection to ‘Normal startup’ and restart, OS works fine.
This might be a small thread to the problem solving.

Dear Don:
I’m sorry, I have to amend the above.
It just worked three times but, not anymore.
I cannot reproduce the situation the OS working without showing the display issue.

Dear Don:
I found that the Service named ‘NahimicService’ makes this problem.
When I stop this service from the ‘Task manager’ and then re-open the OS it works fine.
Please check this and let me have your advice on this.
Kiho
I have confirmation from another customer will a similar issue that the Nahimic service was causing the issue. Stop services called NahimicSvc32.exe, NahimicSvc64.exe or Nahimicservice.exe in task manager to verify this is the problem.
NahimicService is related to Realtek sound drivers and has been problematic with various applications from what i've read. Nahimic is not required to get sound its an enhancer app so you could just leave it disabled without breaking anything important. \
If you want to keep Nahimic, There is some possible options here that may help: https://www.reddit.com/r/MSILaptops/comments/7uucrb/everything_nahimic_2_possible_fix/
And updated / different versions of Nahimic itself here. Be sure your machine . motherboard is on the list. https://www.nahimic.com/updates/
Dear Don:
Thank you for the details!
As I’m not a gamer, I have just stopped the Nahimic service from windows task manager.
