How to get CCT (Color temperature) in the detector viewer?

It's very common to see the color tempture in the lighting industry.


Is it possible to get the color tempture for the each pixcel in the detector?

In the OpticStudio,  color temperature data in the detector viewer are not provided.


However,  it’s very easy to calculate color temperature from tristimulus value.


You can do the transformation by Excel, ZPL, or API.



  1. In the detector viewer for detector(color), we can get tristimulus values x, y, z, for each pixcels.

Convert X, Y, Z to CIE 1931 color space coordinate x, y by below equations.

If you have CIE 1931 color space coordinate x, y, the color temperature can be calculated by below formula.

Also use a Detector Color and the NSDE operand:


 



This gives CCT for the whole detector. NSDE returns a lot of chromaticity data.I agree though, it would be great if the Detector Viewer would give this data directly, without having to go through an operand.
