How to deal with new Zemax knowledgebase site on Ansys?

Forum|alt.badge.img

I see that Ansys is going to do away with this zemax.com site.   Has anyone figured out how to effectively get  information on the new Ansys site?  As an example, I tried today on the simple topic of  “fluorescent microscope” and I can’t find the article (which exists in the zemax.com )

It appears all Lumerical and Speos articles are mixed in with Zemax, not that I can tell for certain. Any hints would be appreciated.

Thanks for your time.

John

Hi everyone :). We’ve made the updates to both websites!

Ansys Optics now has a dedicated Zemax Knowledge Base page. You can find it by clicking the button on the homepage, or by using the direct link here: https://optics.ansys.com/hc/en-us/categories/10139548118675. In case you’re searching the site for a specific article, please know that Zemax-related articles have a tag at the top of the article, like this:

Zemax licensing articles have been moved to a dedicated space here: https://optics.ansys.com/hc/en-us/categories/360001597473-Installation-and-Licensing. Please note - some Zemax licensing articles are still in the process of being consolidated with similar articles that were already published on Ansys Optics.

I was not able to get a new URL listed at the top of each article like I originally planned. Instead, I have set up redirects for individual article URLs. Your old bookmarks should take you to the updated location of the article. Please be sure to update the bookmark’s URL since the redirects will only be available for about a month. If you’re looking for a specific article, I have listed the new URLs for all articles on the old Knowledgebase homepage here: https://support.zemax.com/hc/en-us.

Thanks!

Allie

Hi @BOWEN ,

Thanks for your question. The Zemax Knowledge Base articles are being migrated to Ansys Optics and will be visible on that site on 1st August. As part of this effort we’ll also be making changes to the Ansys Optics homepage that will make it easier to find the Zemax content.

As content goes live on Ansys Optics we will add the new URL to the the top of the article in the old Knowledge Base so you can update your bookmarks (in many cases articles will auto-redirect to their new location).

I hope this helps, but please let us know is you have any questions.

Chris
