Hi

I am uncertain how to implement a new material in Zemax. I wanted to include UV fused silica:

However I cannot understand what to put for the marked parameters

Thank you,

Hi Fatemeh,

The first block of parameters you highlighted are for the temperature coefficient of the refractive index. It is described in a Schott document here (Equation 2).

The second paramter, dPgF, that you indicated with an arrow, is the deviation of relative partial dispersion and can be used to compute the refractive index of your material as a Model Glass. The Model Glass is described here. It is a first approximation to the wavelength dependant refractive index value. Since, I believe, you have more accurate data for the UVFS refarctive index from THORLABS, which is using this reference. You don’t necessarily need to feed this value (you can probably leave it at zero).

I hope this helps.

Take care,

David

Thank you very much David.

It helped me indeed very much.
