My systeme have 3 lens

I want to understand how can i resolve the errors TIR (Total Internal Refelexion) between surfaces of lenses

Wich parameter can i change ?

is these a equation between the lenses to avoid TIR

Thank you

Hi Wahiba,

Can you share your design file with us, so we can have a look at it?

You can find the definition of TIR, which stands for Total Internal Reflection, in Wikipedia.

The most obvious relation is with the curvature of the lens. Having high incidence angles, and going from a high to low refractive index medium tends to cause TIR, but its difficult to say without seeing your file.

What happens if you change the Radius to INF (for infinity)? If you have paraxial rays, this should remove the TIR errors.

Let me know if this helps, and take care,

David

Hi David,

yes i tried to make radius to INF. exemple if i make surface 7 INF. the TIR appear at surface 2 or 6

Thank you for your answer

Wahiba
