A CO2 laser beam (10.6 μm) with a diameter of 2.5 mm was focused with a ZnSe lens with a focal length of 200 mm. When using the Quick Focus function on Zemax, the spot size is about 500 nm. When using the spot size calculation equation, it is 1.3 mm. The difference is too big. Is it possible to interpret the spot size on Zemax similarly to the spot size in the equation?

Hi,

If you want to model laser beam propagation in OpticStudio, you should use the laser propagation method. There are related articles in the Knowledgebase.
