Is there a way to customize the aperture type so the apodization type could be a combination of multiple Laguerre-Gaussian modes.

Basically I want to model the output from a multi-mode VCSEL and couple it to a multi-mode fiber (so I define object space NA and apodization type as Gaussian, and use Geometric image analysis for coupling efficiency calculation, but I am wondering whether there is more accurate way to model since the output from VCSEL is not Gaussian).

Thanks.

I would use POP for this. You can define any input mode and output mode using ZBF files, and then compute the overlap ibtegral of them at the image plane to give the coupling.
