Hi,

I have a non-rotationally symmetric system and in my application I want to convert “Real Image Height” to “Object Angle” and reverse. The conversion works fine for axially symmetric systems (like Cooke triplet) but it is not working correctly for a non-rotationally symmetric system. By that I mean, when I convert “Real Image Height” to “Object Angle” and then I do reverse, (from “Object Angle” to “Real Image Height”) I do not get the same “Real Image Height” values. I am wondering if there is any issue with “Convert to” or I should use an intermediate step to get the correct conversion.

Thanks,

Soroush

Hmm...hard to say without seeing the file, but I’d try looking at ray aiming settings and seeing if they have changed.

Thanks Mark for your answer. Unfortunately, I won’t be able to share the file. I tried different ray aiming settings and I got the same results. This behavior happens when I have a non-rotationally symmetric system and wide angle lens.

Hi Soroush

If you can, email the file at support@zemax.com

We can have a look.
