In the past when importing CAD objects as *.stp the colors were shown also in Zemax.
In the latest version CAD objects are shown in gray.
Is there something changed or are there new setting to get the colors of *.stp back aging?

Hi
Do you remember which version this was? For me CADs have always been imported with a gray color and the only way to change their color is by opening the CAD Object properties, navigating to the Draw tab and changing the Object Color from a set list of 24 colors. I started with OpticStudio 15.6 and while I am not certain it wasn’t there at the time, I can’t remember my CAD step files being drawn something other than gray (even if the step file had another color).
Since there are only a set number of colors for CAD objects, you can’t load a STEP and except any color to render anyway. In your original question, do you actually mean that you could apply a color to a STEP file in OpticStudio and that OpticStudio could later retrieve that color information?
Take care,
David
