Now that Ansys has taken over Zemax, what are our options for inputting feature requests?  I don’t know what this AnsysGPT thing is or does, but it is currently blocking people like me (and you?) with gmail.com or yahoo.com emails.  I’m damned if I’m going to pay monthly for a domain just to make Ansys happy.

I really hope Zemax can break free of this Ansys takeover, it’s not working well and never will.

Mike

Hello Mike, I’m a Senior Product Manager on the Ansys Optics team. The best way to get a feature request considered is to share it with our team (either through our Channel Partners or directly with our engineering team). Every request goes into our formal intake process, where it’s reviewed and triaged in regular meetings by our team leads.

We serve a wide range of customers and industries. Because of that breadth, it’s not always possible to address every request right away. We have to balance priorities across many use cases and workflows.

Your feedback still matters to us, and putting it through the official process ensures it’s captured, tracked, and visible when we’re planning future updates.

As of today (08-15-2025) AnsysGPT is not featured in OpticStudio. I’d recommend that you consult our knowledge base (https://optics.ansys.com/hc/en-us/categories/10139548118675) or help documentation (Ansys Zemax OpticStudio) to find materials you are looking for.
