Is anyone else here experiencing 2026R1 crash randomly when trying to use MTF or set anything in the MTF analysis settings? Or as a matter of fact, any other analysis window and its setting?

Since upgrading to 2026R1, the app has crashed multiple times and always has to do with analysis window settings or IIRC even trying to dock/undock analysis windows.

I have not experienced this issue in 2025R204.

Cheers!

@Asuku

When replying to this:

I was also looking at what you reported. So far, on the Double Gauss sample file, it never crashed for me. Is it happening to you irrespective of the lens file?

Take care,

David

Hi Both,

Thank you for reaching out to us and reporting this behavior. We are currently looking at potential causes of this issue, but it would be really helpful if you could share some more information with us!

Is this happening with all your files or just a specific one? If it is just a specific one can you please attach it here so I can test it from my side?

Is this always repeatable or happens randomly?

Do you have more than 2026R1 version installed on your Laptop?

Kind Regards,

Niki

Hello @Niki and @David.Nguyen :

The original design files were modeled in 25R2.04 and almost all files showed the same symptoms. Playing around with MTF window (Dragging and Docking, Opening Settings and changing settings, etc.) caused the entire app to crash. However, I have not seen this issue happen in 26R1.01.

@David.Nguyen : It is happening to my files and also Zemax sample files. No, I have only 1 installation of 26R1 but I have 25R2.04, 25R2.02 as well in my system. Not sure if that would cause any trouble. The problem is repeatable - meaning I can trigger it with the same actions.

@Niki : I would close this discussion since I do not see the issue anymore with 26R1.

Thanks both for taking time to look into this issue.
